this is is our second fundraising event. If you wish to donate 5$ there will be a donation basket available. This money goes to support both the Dharma Readers book club and the Minneapolis Buddhism Meetup group. The money is used to maintain our meetup membership. This is only a recommended donation, it is not required to attend. Why vegan? We are trying to have a meal with the least amount of suffering possible. Lets embrace an evening of mindful eating and acknowledge not only the suffering of ourselves, but of all beings. "In our approach to life, be it pragmatic or otherwise, the ultimate truth that confronts us squarely and unmistakably is the desire for peace, security and happiness. Different forms of life in different aspects of existence make up the teeming denizens of this earth of ours. And, no matter whether they belong to the higher group as human beings or to the lower group, the animals, all beings primarily seek peace, comfort and security. Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to a man. Just as one wants happiness and fears pain, just as one wants to live and not to die, so do other creatures." - The 14th Dalai Lama- See you there. Steven.
