The Diamond Way Buddhist Center of Madison is place to learn, meditate and realize your inherent power, richness and wisdom. No previous experience with meditation is required, and all you need to bring is yourself and any burning questions. We'll take care of the rest!
Our nearly 700 groups and centers consciously shy away from rigid hierarchies and are built upon idealism, friendship and an egalitarian spirit. No one in our centers, including our lamas, are paid, and our centers run off the vibrancy and surplus of lay Buddhist practitioners.
Our regular programs include:
• Regular meetings on Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 pm: members of the center share their understanding of core Buddhist teachings for 10-15 minutes and then guide a 25-minute advanced meditation in a warm, relaxed and generally jovial atmosphere!
• Lectures both at the center and on the UW campus: lectures are typically 1-2 hours long and include guided meditation. We have experienced Diamond Way teachers locally and throughout the Midwest, and we also bring in teachers from across the world.
• Immersive weekends of meditation and learning: we offer more in-depth programs which include the opportunity to learn meditation practices, Q&A with experienced teachers and lectures on important topics regarding the Buddhist path.
• We're an international organization: which means you can get connected to other lay practitioners, exciting events and ongoing projects anywhere in the Americas, Europe and even Siberia! Seriously!
