Diamond Way Buddhist Group San Jose Pages

There is already an array of spiritual offers out there and certainly enough resources to study Buddhism and find spiritual help. This group is not another philosophy club of superficial spiritualists. With the help of our teachers and Karma Kagyu centers around the world our intent is to offer a modern approach to the Buddha's Diamond Way teachings. Modern western education, stressing self-reliance and independent thought, has proven to be an excellent basis for realizing one's mind.

True Buddhism is free of dogmas, hierarchies or missionary ambitions. In fact, to put all the cultural things aside, it is probably not even a religion. Buddha said it himself before he passed on "I have taught you everything I could but do not believe a word I said... Go try things, examine them, make it part of your reality and be your own guiding lights." Buddhism is a religion of experience. This meetup group is about learning the practice according to teachings of Karma Kagyu (one of the four) school of Tibetan Buddhism, then sharing the experience and being the guiding lights to oneself and each other.

The view and meditation practices of the Vajrayana (Diamond Way) tradition of the Tibetan Buddhism are presented in a lay and very relaxed manner where everyone can relate. These highest of Buddha's teachings were used by the greatest yogis of Tibet and have been passed through generations from teacher to a student. This tradition delves deep into the nature of the mind, examines it, works with it until one reaches highest levels of awareness, joy, fearlessness, and active compassion. There are cases in history like the great yogi Milarepa of Tibet, who has attained complete enlightenment in one life time even against very negative karma accumulated in his youth.

In order to maintain a fresh experience and progress we regularly invite qualified teachers from other established Diamond Way Buddhism centers who have been studying and practicing Buddhism for years and who have received their knowledge from true Tibetan and Western spiritual masters.

At the end of the day, we can sit around and discuss 84,000 of Buddha's teachings till cows come home but we risk of ending up with heads like seedless watermelons and lacking direct experience of what mind itself is all about. The Buddhist philosophy is a tool but not the ultimate goal. Mind is a very habitual creature and even the best philosophy and inspiration will not leave lasting impressions without meditation. Hence, meditation is the focal point in our group.

Whether you've studied Buddhism for years or starting out, join us by bringing your curiosity and open mindedness. Ask any questions you want and relax in the company of new found friends.
