As a person of Caribbean Heritage, a true "Life Long Learner," and "book lover", I thought it would be great to have a book club alternative to the ones that are currently available at my local library. I love the Classics, I love reading Americana, but I recently started to read more works by Edwidge Danticat, and other authors from the African and Afro- Caribbean Diaspora, and I really found myself really enjoying and identifying very much with the authors and their stories. I started looking into more works by writers from the Caribbean, Africa, and Latin America, and found that there exist a wealth of truly great literature by writers from these regions. That's why I would love to invite a few good women and men, (of all ages) to join me in exploring and discussing these great books. Everyone ( people of all nationalities, religions, race, and cultures) is welcome to join. All you need is a keen interest in exploring and discussing works dealing with Caribbean, Latin America, or African Diaspora identity, themes and culture. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided. Group will meet the last Friday each Month at the West Chester Library, The first meeting will be held on: Friday January 27, 2012 at 5:30 PM. at: The West Chester Library 9363 Centre Pointe Drive West Chester, OH 45069 Tel: 513-777-3131
