Feedback from last visit. I enjoyed the session. I don't really have an opinion about it yet - and so will come along to another one. (August 6th)

From that session I will decide if I feel there is space to participate then I will probably look to join in October this year.

This is a good group to improve ones vocabulary, confidence in performing and exploring speaking styles. Pitfall for new members is how there seems to be immediate discussion of roles to be taken up.

The downside is this puts pressure on new member passive observance as they may feel that they instantly need to be engaged formally without having observed enough.

Also there was no mention as to the amount of passive visits an observer is allowed before obliging to formally join. And it would help if you emailed the agenda for the next meeting to a prospective member because the first meeting I went to felt like a lot of information.

Aside from that, thanks for the friendly welcome

Great evening with some entertaining and informative speeches.

Table topics [Impromptu speeches] introduced by Adam Prendegast focused on literary genres and went down well. Ron [Superhero] Cohen won the ribbon for best speaker here.

Prepared speeches on Birmingham, World War I and the Pharmaceutical Industry were well received by all. Andrew Shelley and Nick Hough shared the ribbon for best speech with Alison Shelley only a vote behind.

Great feedback on the evaluations including and impromptu General Evaluator contribution from Chalky White [a visitor from our sister club - Warrington Toastmasters]. Louise Cahill won the Best Evaluator Ribbon.

Great start to the new Toastmasters year and a fantastic reception for our new President Gayna Cooper!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
