Didsbury Speakers meets the First and Third Wednesday Evening of every month.

We have speakers ranging from those people who have never done it before to vastly experienced ones. People come to us from all walks of life, differing cultures, nationalities and educational backgrounds. We welcome everyone who has a need to improve their public speaking whether it be for work or personal reasons. Often, people just want to get to grips with their Public Speaking Fears and that is where we can help.

Each meeting has the first half devoted to Table Topics (or impromptu speaking) and the second half to Members' Prepared Speeches - there are normally up to 4 of those at any one meeting.

Generally people take up certain roles within the meeting such as Grammarian and Timekeeper or even Speech Evaluators as these are vitally important for the smooth running of the meeting and contribute towards achieving your Competent Leader Award.

For those people who would like to join Didsbury Speakers, we provide a comprehensive study programme which takes you through the steps that you need to become both a Competent Communicator and a Competent Leader.

We welcome guests to come along and experience meetings for themselves. If you are interested in trying us out, then please contact us via this site and we'll look out for you at the next meeting :)

We are a friendly bunch so why not come along, meet us and see what it is all about!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
