When Digital Eve Israel was founded in 2001, we were committed to to "bring together women in hi-tech for mutual learning and support as well as key professional enrichment and networking." That was actually taken from a DEI message board post from 2001. We used to meet monthly to learn from "speakers who educate and inspire on topics related to women in new media." DEI has a very strong online presence with active Yahoo, Facebook, and LinkedIn groups. While that's fabulous and should continue from strength to strength, this Meetup group is being created to inspire us to begin meeting again in person. While there are endless lectures and workshops being offered in Israel, the element of support and networking for women in high-tech is missing. Even if it's just to put a face and a warm touch to an online relationship, it's important for us to begin meeting and getting to know each other in order to network effectively. At first, we will meetup casually before or after other Meetup events which I will be posting here. Eventually I'd like help organizing "speakers who educate and inspire on topics related to women in new media."
