I am currently participating in the V-MusT.net project - aimed at creating a Network of Excellence for Virtual Museum development. This will include bridging domains of archival, social and cognitive sciences with technology to advance the state-of-the-art of digital preservation and VM applications. For our part, we will be developing quality standards and assessment procedures for VM applications, and coordinating a transmedia showcase, as well as other tasks included in the project.
My background is in both Roman archaeology and museology, but within these I have largely focused on collections history and the importance of preserving and maintaining collections and collections catalogues. My more recent work has been on Communities of Practice and how they may be defined and identified within museum environments.
My experiences and a love of learning.
Hello! I'm an archaeologist/museologist working at the Allard Pierson Museum on the V-MusT.net project.
