Winter Solstice Sunset Photography Workshop

This is not my event. I got an email from the National Park Service announcing a Community Photography Workshop with landscape photographer Greg Miller. This looks very interesting.

Originally I was going to head over to Elks Park in Port Jervis but now that there is snow on the ground the park will be closed. So if you are interested, join me at the Roosevelt Mansion in Hyde Park.

Here's the original notice:

Greg Miller is always worth listening to. The cloudy sky and rain are always a risk but the group was enjoyable.

That's the last time I go to one of these outings with an empty stomach. All I could think about was getting something to eat. I didn't want to take pictures.

Light not good but that wasn't the organizer's fault. Got some really good tips from the speaker. Nice to see such a large turnout.

I spoke with Bill Urbin with the Park Service and he said that we do not have to register to attend this event. We just have to show up. Just a reminder, it is taking place at the Henry A. Wallace Visitor and Education Center, not the mansion.

Sounds interesting, what is the cost? I might go to this.

There is no cost. It is free and open to the public. I am awaiting a call from them to see if we have to register but the email didn't say anything about that.

Do we need to register at FDR to attend?

The email didn't say anything about the need to sign up. I called the phone number they listed but I just got an answering machine so I left a message. I'll let everybody know when they call me back.
