Stony Point

Stony Point is a small point that juts out into the Hudson River in Rockland County. It is one of the last Revolutionary War battles. There is a museum, soldier’s camp, Blacksmiths Forge and light house on the point. The grounds open at 10am. There are fees for tours but they are small.

There were more hills than I thought and slightly disappointed we couldn't get to the light house but it was very nice there and I had a great time!!

I'm going to make it after-all. My family is handling the situation so I am free to go today.

We had a death in the family today. I probably won't be able to make it this Saturday. But don't cancel because of me. Go and meetup together and enjoy the day!

I spoke with the people at Stony Point and they said that we are welcome to come down but some of the point is restricted and roped off due to nesting Eagles. We will not be able to see the lighthouse. This area will be closed until August. Be they assured me that there are views of the Hudson and other interesting things to photograph.
