Sunflower Fields

We will be visiting Roseline's Farm and Sunflower Maze in Autusta, NJ. I've had a lot of requests to visit the sunflower fields over the past couple years and we are finally doing it. It's out of our target area but can still be considered the "Hudson Valley". I've never been here before and I don't know what to expect or if it is the best site for sunflowers but we're going. We'll find out together. I was told to bring a step ladder to get a good angle so I'll tie mine on the roof of my Blazer.

I originally wanted to go at 7am but when I called I was told they open at 10. Oh well, I don't want to change it now once everybody made plans. If anybody wants to go earlier for morning light and to beat the crowds then go right ahead. I don't think there will be a lot of people there at 10.

Can't go Sat., so I went today. Very friendly farmer and a unique experience. You can expect it to be crowded on Sat. Farmer does open early some days , usually Fri & Sat [today = 5:00 a.m.] You can find out on their Facebook page.

Hi! I was in the area visiting friends and stopped by the sunflower maze this morning. The flowers averaged 4 ft tall with many not in bloom yet. The sunflowers were "behind schedule" according to the woman who worked there. She did explain that the planting is staggered so the flowers nearest the road bloom first and the ones in the back of the field bloom last. I did not have time to go through the maze, so I cannot comment on that. Have a great time on Saturday!

Full of questions! Where are we all meeting up? Is there a fee?

    August 20

    • Jeff M.

We will meet at the farm unless you make arrangements to car-pool with someone. I always leave the option to meet at my shop in Bullville and ride together from there but to date only one person has taken me up on that offer. The cost is $10.00 at person. We'll meet there at 10:00am

Since Liberty Farm does not come up in the address choices above I'll leave it as Roseline's Farm. Its just across the street.

This is actually Liberty Farm's Sunflower maze. Roseline's Farm and Bakery is across the street. they advertise and talk on the phone like the maze is their own. Here is the website. http://www.sussexcountysunflowermaze.com/
It opens at 10am through 6pm. The cost is $10.00 a person. We'll meet there unless someone wants to car-pool from my shop in Bullville.

Have you made a decision as to where this event will be? I'd love to go!

It looks like we'll be visiting the Roseline's Farm & Sunflower Maze in Augusta unless somebody has a better idea.

I have never been to any of these, but last year I was trying to research sunflower fields and came across Sussex County Sunflower Maze on Facebook. I believe this is the one you have listed as Roseline's Farm & Sunflower Maze. On June 26, they had a post which links you to an article about the maze. It is also nice, because as you get closer to the bloom time, they will keep you posted as to peak bloom time, weather conditions and such. Which ever field you choose, it sounds like a great trip.

I believe it was Roseline's that I went to the last year. It was nice.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
