Chinese tea house for a late light lunch and tea (they have many varieties) in this oasis of tranquility, while away the afternoon in good company and then transfer by tube and bus to Asakusa in Mornington Crescent for some delicious Japanese food at 6pm.

Details on the tea house:  I won't have had lunch so will select from the accompanying nibbles, I can certainly recommend this approach... especially as their website indicates 10 pound min charge per person. Fyi, they take cash but not cards.

Asakusa has been warmly recommended by knowledgeable foodies, I can't wait to go there and give the menu a try.  Review and some details:

There is a small, 1 pound per person, non-refundable, event fee to help towards organiser MeetUp fees and incidental costs.

Great fun despite the weather - a great idea to combine two very different experiences into one day

The tea house is small and it's often difficult to increase numbers at short notice. It's regularly fully booked when I just try to get a table for 2 people. Fyi, last time I booked the tea house we did not fill the 6 spaces... see how tricky it can be to predict ;-)

I could ask to book the whole tea house (well in advance) next time... I would really like to do a bigger event there and have been considering for some time. The petitioning for a larger event has not gone unnoticed! If I schedule in the New Year then please sign up!!!

I'm planning 3 events for December, all will be back to the more usual level e.g. 12 attendees. I will also continue to do occasional larger MeetUps, the largest was 27 people.

So, set the iPhone or Galaxy to receive the notifications and get ready to join in the fun in December... Vietnamese food, Burmese and Hungarian (OK not Asian but it's a great restaurant) are being planned. Maybe in January some more Dim Sum, and then there is CNY....

Yeah, I agree with Juzer - why can't the list be bigger? Why is there such a small limit on the amount of people attending each event? Looking at the past 3 events, there were more people wanting to attend than actually could, so it appears there is a regular demand for a bigger list. Please explain.

Why not have a bigger list? :)

Could you perhaps squeeze me onto the table at Asakusa - its just near to my home - and I'm desperate to go there.....I cant make the afternoon slot anyway - but could get to Morington Crescent by 6:00pm

I cannot attend but know the tea house, I can highly recommend the host having attended both a tea tasting workshop and tea cookery workshop. Enjoy

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
