Poon Choi , also known as pun choi or Big Bowl Feast, is a traditional type of dish originating from Hong Kong village Hakka cuisine. It may also be found in different parts of Hong Kong.

It was said that Poon Choi was invented during the late Song Dynasty. When Mongol troops invaded Song China, the young Emperor fled to the area around Guangdong Province and Hong Kong. To serve the Emperor as well as his army, the locals collected all their best food available, cooked it, and because there were not enough containers, put the resulting dishes in wooden washbasins. Poon Choi becomes a unique dish, which will be served whenever there are rituals, weddings, festivals, ancestor worships happened in the village as a village dining culture. And for most of the Hong Kong people, we’ll have Poon Choi during the New Year!!

And in fact, Poon Choi is a very good dish to pairing with different wines, and you’ll be surprise by it!

    The Venue is within 10 mins of walking distance from Price Edward Station Exit C2.
    Walk along Prince Edward Rd W, and turn left into Walnut St, make a Right on Bedford Rd., and you'll probably see a newly re-model industrial building SOLO.
