Cast: Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Ansel Elgort

Synopsis: DIVERGENT is a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior (Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it's too late.

The movie times for 3/30 aren't released yet, but let's plan for the first matinee with a late lunch/early dinner afterward.  Once movie times are released, I'll update the time.

UPDATE:  The first matinee is at 11:30am, so please be there early enough to get any snacks you plan to get and meet near the ticket taker area so we can find seats together.

I'm not a church-goer but some people are, so morning times on Sunday exclude them. I wonder if there is an optimal time & day of week for movie & dinner that would appeal to a large portion our 131 members rather than just a handful at a time. Is there experience from other movie meetup groups of what it takes to attract dozens to each movie? Is it possible to have a poll about best days/times in general?

I am trying to keep it simple by doing the first matinee on a weekend since sometimes there are so many movie times listed that people could get confused, especially since my time to met doesn't match up with when the movie starts so we have enough time to meet and get seats. That is why I also do some during the week. Many people told me that they work on weekends and can make Monday or Tuesday night meetups. I couldn't do one this week and this coming week is filling up fast, but hopefully next Monday or Tuesday night I will have one posted. No one can make every meetup. I have started cross-posting to another group as well, so we may have more people than are usually listed, it is actually easier to keep it smaller, though, or there could be problems with the restaurants if I make reservations and then people don't show up or change their RSVP. That has happened a few times. I am sure it will all work itself out!

If our objective is to maximize attendance at meetups, do we know if our % attendance is as good as possible for a movie meetup group? If easy to do, could some objective less-biased data like polls be helpful (e.g., time/date/venue preferences in general or for each movie)? Or trial-and-error results after trying something different to promote a meetup or accommodate more people (although that can be very hard to judge since every movie is so different, not to mention each season and weather)?

With its history since you started this group a few months ago, I'm surprised that you haven't changed the name to "Movie, Brush snow off your car, & Dinner." ;-). Metropolitan restaurant again, that was good last time?

I know what you mean! I am really looking forward to better weather. This restaurant seems to make people happy. It definitely makes me happy so I don't mind going back. I am open to other suggestions, but it is close to the theatre and won't be very busy at that time of the afternoon. :). Good food, though!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
