It's great to meet like minded people...good to eat with folks who know the dos and don'ts of using a lazy-susan and why you don't take the last piece when you eat family style....at least not until it's been sitting there for a while.
I teach Asian American Studies at a local college. Some of my interests include Asian American & Pacific Islanders and health.
I see myself as a member of the Chinese diaspora. I feel I have more in common with members of the "overseas Chinese" than Chinese in China. In Buenos Aires, they called dumplings "Ravioles Chinos" and ZhongZhi "Tamales Chinos." We're everywhere!

I was born and raised in Texas, but have been living in Los Angeles for the last 20 or so years. Also lived two fabulous years in Hawai'i. Last year I spent three months in Buenos Aires and 6 months in Shanghai.
