This was such a blast last month we're heading back.
This ride is for advanced-beginners/ lower-intermediates and up. Though if you're a true beginner--or not comfortable with jumps and drops at all--you're still welcome to come along to watch, then return on the paved fire road to avoid the trail all together. The ride up is relatively easy with one steep incline at the very end (30-40 meters at >12%).
For those who haven't been here before, I'll be leading a full loop of the entire course on the first ride up. Consider this a small tour of sorts. There are some very fun jumps, drops and berms in this lower section with some mind blowing jumps available for very advanced riders as well. I won't even consider hitting these but they're fun to point out. I'll also be stopping at intersections to point out optional trails for those who want to take an easier route back to the parking area. After that I'm returning to the upper section to session the jumps there.
Since the ramps on the upper section have tapered sides there are multiple levels of difficulty for practicing jumps. You can easily pop off the sides for practice and confidence building or get some bigger air by taking the crease. The run outs are long & level and the berth is wide, so you don't have to worry about trees and such. It's also just as easy to ride around anything you're not comfortable with.
ACHTUNG! A helmet is required, and for those jumping protective gear for the body is highly recommended. Please bring along water, snacks and willingness to challenge yourself, but don't go crazy.
I'm heading over to PUERTO 27 for some for lunch afterward. http://puerto27.com/
