"An early morning walk is a blessing for the whole day." - Henry David Thoreau, US writer and naturalist
Hello all you Dirty Girls!
We head for our beloved "Cornish Hills" about once week. New walkers, our Dirty Girls "newbies" aka "virgins", are going to love this as much as our "fast women" aka returning walkers! This course is for all levels, those beginning a walking program (mellow) to hard-core power walkers (motivated). These hills offer alternatives to keep everyone happy. The best part is that the scenary is quite beautiful. There are quaint neighborhoods to walk through with ocean views along the way.
If you just want to become a stronger, faster walker, this is your optimal course toward that goal. If you are entertaining doing walking events, especially the Catalina Half Marathon in September 2013, then this is an excellent training interval for those events. Please check it out on the Dirty Girl calendar, September 28, 2013.
We will meet by the Encinitas library by the grassy knoll on the south side (see photo). There is street parking that is typically ample for our group. The route will take about an hour to complete and our distance will be between 3 and 4 miles. The cool down and stretching will be at a lovely neighborhood park with ocean views adjacent to the library.
Now go get dirty!
PS - Please call or text me if the RSVP deadline has passed and you need to change your RSVP. Thanks.
