This group is for people with either intellectual or physical disabilities ages 20-30. We also would like to include non-disabled people who experience social anxiety or have a hard time making new friends. My name is Andres Urbina and I moved to Silver Spring in October 2013. I am an intellectually disabled man, who can sometimes be shy and anxious. People tell me I am funny and I enjoy working out (especially running) and taking care of my dog Bronx. Starting this group is kind of a project for me because I need help putting myself out there, making friends and socializing. There are not enough spaces out there for disabled people to socialize and get to know one another. I hope that this group expands and we can do lots of activities together! I am open to suggestions and ideas from other group members. We will meet on Sundays (starting June 29th) at Panera Bread, located at 673 H St NW between N 7th ST & N 6th ST in Chinatown.. This location is accessible via metro, on the red line, Gallery Place Chinatown. We will start promptly at 1pm and go until 2, maybe longer.
Until I get more group members to show up this group is suspended for the time being.
