The Game

Pub Golf is like the actual Golf a game; but instead of sports - it's the sport of drinking... Our Yelp's Pub Golf has the standard 9 "holes"; that is, each bar is considered a "hole". The bars to be visited during the game are predetermined and numbered; these numbers determine the order in which each bar will be visited. We will give you more specifics later... You are going to play golf in a team: find your best friend / neighbour / sibling anyone that is going to play with you.

The par number represents how many drinks/sips/gulps it should take to complete the drink assigned. Therefore, in the example given, at hole 5, if the pint of beer is completed in 4 drinks, the person drinking that pint is awarded a par. However many drinks it takes to complete the assigned drink should be recorded on a scorecard. (Thus, 5 drinks @ Hole 5= +1 to your score).

We have a thirty minutes- time frame per hole; that is including entering - ordering -drinking - leaving. Yes, we're playing pro here ;-).

As with any game, there are rules and order that must be followed. There are some actions that will cost you one or more extra strokes.

+1 stroke = Spilling a drink

+1 stroke = Going to a bathroom in a water hazard

+2 strokes = Falling down

+2 strokes = For every hole missed.

+2 strokes = Being refused a drink or kicked out of a bar

+5 strokes = Cheating

+10 strokes = Throwing Up

+20 strokes = Starting fights with other golfers

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
