(I'M SAD TO REPORT, BUT I'VE BEEN INFORMED THE DREAMING TREE IS ALL BUT DEAD. A VICTIM OF LIGHTNING STRIKES, ITS NO LONGER THE MASSIVE COTTONWOOD I REMEMBER. A DECENDANT SAPLING HAS BEE PLANTED NEXT TO IT, SO SOME OF IT LIVES ON...
AND YES THE TRIP IS STILL ON. THE MUSEUM, TOWN, LUNCH AND PLAY BARN ARE STILL WORTH THE TRIP. HI HO HI HO OFF TO MARCELINE WE GO!!!
yes I'm a Disney freak :) and this is like going to Graceland for Elvis. Besides a Disney museum, $5, this Mayberry type town was Walt's inspiration for the main streets at his parks. BUT...ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN, is his dreaming tree!!! My kids and I hugged it. The look on their faces when we read the plack on it. As a child he would climb it and sit for hours dreaming...You know how those turned out. He changed the world. Also is a barn where he and siblings put on plays. Visitors can leave messages on the walls. Meet time there is 10 am. Carpools from Barry Rd Hyvee at 7:45 am. (WE WILL LUNCH ON MAINSTREET AT SUZIE Q'S DINER. WE HAVE A ROOM ALL TO OURSELVES)
ALSO, WHEN PURCHASING TICKETS AT MUSEUM, MENTION OUR GROUP NAME......LADIES WILL RECEIVE A FREE GIFT WITH TICKET :)!!!
