DIAMOND DIGGING!!! CRATER OF DIAMONDS STATE PARK

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Let's go dig in the mud and find a big one. It's in Murfreesboro ARK. Let's make a pack and share our spoils. Seriously, a little girl was just walking back to family and found a huge one along a path. I researched and best finds are after big rains, so maybe late spring.

Since I don't do much digging in the mud anymore, I'm game! Depends on the date, however! Rich, I believe springtime after rains is the way to go. Let's go, diggers!! Patty K

I made a total mess of that post. Many grammar and spelling mistakes. I really have been to college, you'd never have guessed it though.

I just read on MSN search engine that a 14 year old found a diamond there last fall, that she sold for $20,000. I may go. If my money holds out. Rich, all these cool places to go our breaking my piggy bank.

c'mon guys - I'm going to ignore the plight of the chickens and I grew up with siblings and had two boys so I've been ignoring feet for eons. I want to have a grand adventure - however it unfolds. Yay !!

I took my kids one year. While we didn't come out with any diamonds to speak of, people were finding them and we had a good time doing something we had never done before.

Not trying to be a downer but have actually been here and done this with my boys thinking it was a good idea. Dirty, hot and non productive. Think of looking for a shredded lottery ticket at Batliner paper company. The closest town to spend the night smelled like feet and was home to a chicken processing plant. I've probably said enough but felt the "experience" was one I would not recommend. Watch out for holes to fall into that people dig and do not bother to fill back in

I can't make it, for this distance I'd need to kennel dogs as it will probably need to be an overnighter. Is that what you think Rich, would it requirer a stay?

    January 9, 2014

    • Rich R.

      Yes overnighter Carol.
