Skating in the Park - followed by food & drink at Pane 'E Vino

12/3/13 2nd update, ignore previous update, copied from Skating in the Park Attention skaters: We have rescheduled 80s night with Journey 93-3! It is now Monday, Dec. 9 - 6 to 9 p.m. Sorry for the inconvenience.

12/3/13 UPDATE: copied from
Skating in the Park's facebook page: Tomorrow night is 80's night with Journey 93-3 Grab your favorite 80's gear and you and a friend can skate for only $9.33!

The good news is we will save .67 cents and we can wear our decades old clothes - LOL.  The bad news is we are more likely to encounter crowded conditions on the small sheet of ice. I personally plan to watch for a few minutes before deciding if to pay the admission price - either way we will still meetup on the patio at Pane 'E Vino - see ya there!

UPDATE:
Pane 'E Vino, the pizzeria in the museum, overlooking the park, will set up outdoor heaters for us to enjoy dinner or drinks on the patio after skating. Undoubtedly, some of us will do more eating & drinking than skating ;-)

Skating Admission is $10, per person (regardless of age) plus $3 for skate rental, or you may bring your own skates.

This is a Family Friendly meetup; feel free to bring your child(ren) - count them as guest(s) in your RSVP.

We will be sharing the rink with the public, but I spoke with the new manager about the troubles we had last year, and he has assured me they will NOT book another group on the same evening and that he personally will be on site to deal with any "bumper car" kids.

so no one wanted to try skating on that pond, weather was awesome for an outdoor night, but not so good for ice. so we went straight to Pane E Vino - good wine, good pizza, GREAT company!

Okay as the saga continues with my HVAC folks I am on a stand-by for them squeezing me in this afternoon - should know something by 4 pm - thank goodness we are having some warmer weather!

if you still feel up to going out after that, you may call my cell to confirm if we're still out.

    • Tiffany

Good to go - well no on HVAC but they won't be coming tomorrow so I might as well get outside and warm up a bit!! See you guys tonight!

seems temp. will remain in the 60's all evening and only small chance of rain after 8 PM - last year several folks 'chickened out' last minute due to weather reports and regretted that decision after realizing we skated wearing only a light sweater or less and enjoyed cold drinks on the patio. Dress appropriately / be prepared, but don't let chance of a little rain scare you off - this might be our last chance of an outdoor event for a few months to come.

I'll be at the airport picking up roomie. Have fun. I was at the park Friday afternoon, there were lots of people enjoying the skating (this was around 1:30pm).

bring him with ya to Pane 'E Vino on your way home !

      December 3, 2013

if we don't have to stop at his favorite stomping grounds (Rugby's), I'd love to. or just bring him back to the house to get his vehicle and meet all of you instead---a better plan in my opinion. His flight is "scheduled" to arrive at 4. I may just show up at Pane or walk towards the rink.
