An evening with friends, rock music, lasers, and the Stars
Join Discovery on the evening of Friday, March 21st for dinner followed by a laser show at Chabot Observatory in the Oakland hills. In addition we will have access to the telescopes for celestial viewing if the weather permits. We will meet in the trendy Rockridge area for dinner first. We will arrange carpools from the Rockridge BART station to the observatory after dinner. We will meet for dinner at 6:30pm. If the weather is clear, we will go to the telescopes after dinner and aim for the 9:15pm Laser show (music by Led Zeppelin).
You are also welcome to just come to dinner or just to the Observatory. Tickets for the Laser Show can be purchased at the Chabot Observatory Website. They also can be purchased on site the evening of the performance but availability is not guaranteed in case of a sellout.
UPDATE: For the Chabot event on Friday March 21st we will meet at "Crepevine", 5600 College @ Oceanview (1 block South of BART station) at 6;30pm. I double checked and the telescopes are indeed still free. It seems to us that the Telescopes (free), Laserium ($14 at door, $15.48 web) is the best deal. There won't be much time for the Space Center and there are no Planetarium shows later in the evening. If it rains we will have a more leisurely dinner.
