A Visit to the ASIAN Art Museum, San Francisco

What’s Gorgeous to you?
Gorgeous presents 72 uniquely stunning artworks drawn from the collections of the Asian Art Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Spanning over 2,200 years and dozens of cultures, these artworks are organized in an attempt to shift the focus from historical and cultural contexts, emphasizing instead the unique ways each work announces itself or solicits a viewer’s attention. Some artworks may be beautiful to you; others, bizarre and challenging. Some may be all three. Whatever they are, your reactions to the show will be unique. (quoted from Asian museum website).
WHEN: Sunday Sept. 7th
TIME: Museum opens at 10am, we will arrive at 9:40am to line up
COST: TARGET FREE 1st Sundays of month, Special exhibit charge of $5 may apply

I arrived a bit late just as the doors were opening, and the line was moving. By then I guess the group was already inside. I enjoyed two docent tours--an overview of Gorgeous (spent most of my time in that exhibit which was fabulous) and Great Works which highlighted some of the most prized pieces in the Museum's collection; the docent was superb).

    Hello Gorgeous,
To everyone I met today, I'm so sorry I couldn't join you for lunch afterward as I was looking forward to discussing the exhibit and getting to know you. Unfortunately, I woke up this morning with a slight headache that only strengthened at the museum because I forgot my glasses. I look forward to the next event!

You know Ed, I created this Meetup because you mentioned this exhibit at the Coffee and Conversation meetup in July. Hope you are enjoying the river.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
