Hi all, unfortunately I am delayed on business and can't make it. Looking forward to the next one though! I'll also be happy to present in the future if we need a speaker on any particular topic.

You need to have your own laptop/computer with wifi. There is a projector that can be connected to the laptop/computer. Depending upon the number of presenter's, you may have 15 minutes to present.

I will be presenting for about 15 Minutes, What is patentable. I am not sure if anybody will be interested in presenting.

The main goal of the meeting is to set the direction of meetup and schedule next meetup session.

I believe, we are open to suggestions ...

hello I am just joining up, and hope to present tomorrow. I have a provisional patent filed by a reputable global IP law firm, with a web-based prototype social commerce engine. The utility patent has yet to be developed from the provisional. what are the options/recommendations for presentation? is there an onsite computer hooked with projector that can show pdf, web pages, files etc? presentation length in time or slides? do many folks have iPads with wifi?

Why are trade secrets not used as much?

    October 27, 2012

    • Owen B.

Trade secrets have two main problems. If your technology can be reversed engineered TS provide little protection and the don't protect against independent discovery.

Furthermore, a company that wants to protect its trade secrets has to have an aggressive program showing that is trying to keep its trade secret from being revealed to the public. Documents should be marked as confidential, under physical security such as safes, locked file cabinets and/or file rooms. Proper training of employees, exit interviews, and appropriate language in employment agreements are all needed to support the position that certain information is a trade secret.
