The Halloween decorations are now up and we want to celebrate this time of year with a special event. This is the 13th Annual Haunted Mansion Holiday and the decorations in the park and on HMH get better each year.
We will take a walk through the park, finding the villains, and riding the Haunted Mansion Holiday with its own magical theme. We will spend most of our time on Main Street, New Orleans Square, and at the Haunted Mansion. Then we can end up with watching Fantasmic at 9:00pm and then the fireworks at 9:25pm.
Meeting Time: 6:00pm
Meeting Place: Opera House (Lincoln Theater) Exit at Town Square - Disneyland
Annual Pass Blockouts: SoCal Select
Park Hours: 8am-12am Midnight
* We can do a group photo in front of the Mickey Pumpkin at Town Square
The information below from the Disneyland web site.

Many times for my evening shots, I will NOT bring my tripod to carry around. I setup what I call "Trash Can Photography". I'm sure some of you have done this before, it has a great effect with a long shutter opening, with a 'ghosting' like look with the guests walking by.

Hello and Welcome to the Disneyland Photography Meetup Group !
We are all set for the next outing at the Disneyland Resort for the Disneyland Photography Meetup Group.
This group is intended to share time in the parks with like-minded people - to help each other with photo opportunities, camera settings, sharing what did and didn't work for you with each other. We want to assure you this is a not-for-profit group. If we have money left over from the dues for each quarter, there will be a drawing at the next monthly event for a gift from Disneyland. The gift will be based on the amount left over. * Must be present to win.
Instead of having friends and family wait while we take "just one more shot", we're all here for that "one more shot" together. We also hold the idea that we can change our plans on a moment's notice if something in the park is hindering our plan for the day.
Please feel free to use our Message Board. You can post questions to the group, cameras and equipment for sale, etc.
We now have a Twitter account. It’s called Disneyland Photo. You can find it by searching for @digitalmickeys or using the hash tag #digitalmickeys. The main goal is to keep in touch with everyone that is planning to be at the event. And it will help anyone that can’t make it until later and catch up to the group by posting our current location and time.
I also use my Instragram account a lot - CaptainJackOC for many of my photos throughout the Disneyland Resort.
The content below is being provided to better your knowledge about the Disneyland Parks and how the Disneyland Photography Meetup Group works.
Everyone is encouraged to bring some kind of digital camera. Whether it be a D-SLR, Point and Shoot, or an iPhone. It's your choice. And if you so desire, bring a tripod or monopod to help steady your shots.
We feel it's best that everyone is on their own if a meal break is planned. Then meet at another location at a specific time, including the same 15 minute window. If anyone has a suggestion, then anyone can go to the same place.
[masked]: Disney Dining
We will always plan to have a meeting time, a reconnect time, and a food break time (if necessary) ahead of time so you know the basic schedule before the next meeting.
You can always check the Mouse Planet (www.mouseplanet.com - see the DL Park update tab on the left) web site for weekly Disneyland Resort Updates and attraction closure schedules.
You may also want to check the Disneyland web site for hours and blackout dates: http://disneyland.dis...
Privacy and Connections
Emails, Phone Numbers, and Facebook accounts are completely optional. We are not trying to keep track of anyone and don't have plans to make up these other connections. If the group consensus is to have such connections, then the group organizer will setup a Twitter and Facebook account specifically for the Disneyland Photography group.
Sometimes emails may be necessary for one-to-one conversations, but please keep them private.
We are open to suggestions to ideas for future events. We would like to keep to the plan for the upcoming meeting.
We request a $1 fee per quarter to help the Organizer pay for the group account. It costs $15 per month to run any group.
Annual Passholder Types
Some of you has asked for opinions on the types of Annual Passes. We want to accommodate as many people as possible that want to join our group and Meetups to enjoy our passion. We feel the best passes to have is the Premium or Deluxe.
You can check the blackout days on the Disneyland web site to see their calendar. Most of our Meetups will be on Sunday afternoon. But we do want to change it up, and have some during the week for those that are available. It also has the fewer black out days.
The current One-Park one day ticket price is $92, a One-Day park hopper is $134.
This new group is most beneficial to annual passholders. Although, it is not necessary or required. That is completely on your own. Parking is $16 at the parking lots. Downtown Disney parking is 3 hours free (or a little longer in the morning). After that it is $6 per hour. You can park at Mickey & Friends off Disneyland Drive / Ball Road, or at Toy Story Parking off Harbor Blvd / Convention Center Way.
Our experience and recommendation is to park at Toy Story at Harbor/Convention Way. We find this easier and closer to your car.
If you have a SmartPhone (iPhone or Android), it’s best to have these apps loaded. You can upload photos directly from the event, check ride wait times, and follow us on Twitter for the updates.
Anyone in the group can certainly offer advice on how to use their camera, or what type of camera to purchase. Or maybe even borrow one from a group member only for that day.
Photo Albums & Digital Uploads
After each event, the Organizer will create a new Photo Album on our Meetup page. Then anyone can post their photos to that event page. I know the file size limit for each photo is 10mb.
You can contact the Organizer directly if you are having any issues uploading your photos.
** Please do not upload all of your photos from the event. Please try to limit it to 20-25 of your favorite images per event.
Let us know if you have any services you would like to offer to the group, or advertise your business.
We always want to promote safety for you, your family, and your camera equipment. Always be aware of your surroundings and other guests, especially when carrying a camera or backpack. They can be picked up very easily by anyone.
Please make sure to bring something to drink. Water, Vitamin Water, Gatorade, etc. We want to make sure we stay hydrated during our visit. I don't expect that to be too much of an issue before summer time, but I always like to have something with me at all times.
First Aid in Disneyland is at the very end of Main Street on the right side (near the Corn Dog Cart).
In DCA, First Aid is located next to The Bakery Tour in the Pacific Wharf area next to the Baby Center.
Visits to the Disneyland Parks
If you don't visit the Disneyland Resort often, or have never been there at all, please make sure to pick up a park map and schedule at the entrance gate to review how the park is laid out. It will help you find attractions, restaurants, first aid, and of course the bathrooms.
You can also go to City Hall (left tunnel under the train) for more general park information.

Please post any questions you may have ahead of time so we can try to answer them before the event starts.
