Location update: Ma*Ya is on East (Way East) 4th street between Ave A and Ave B (near B) Since it is now raining, the question on everyone's mind might well be "what is the closest, driest subway stop?" If you take the F or V to the 2nd Ave stop, exit from the front of the train, you will come up at basically 1st street and 1st avenue. This is the closest stop and transferring from the 6 downtown at Bleecker (second closest stop) is fairly easy. Lychee Sake-tinis will be waiting to dry you out! See you there! ==== Ma*Ya is a wonderful place and the owners are really great and will definitely take care of us. I met with the chef/owner and his daughter and we went over all the arrangements (and the desired spiciness!) and everything should be great. We have a whole room reserved just for us! So here's the menu we have arranged: Roti Canai Green papaya salad Ribs in tamarind sauce Special pad thai Fried tofu in sweet dipping sauce Spicy squid salad Shrip tempura wasabi Thai basil pork Green curry chicken and... Fried coconut ice cream! I want to get 20 people to come and I'll make a reservation and arrange a tasting menu. Target is under $25 per person (you buy your own drinks). Like all good dining meetup groups, we have a 3 strike rule. Please RSVP Yes or No, but if you have RSVP-ed YES on the afternoon of the meeting you are expected to show, because usually we have negotiated a deal based on number of people and the ones who DO show have to cover you. RSVP yes and miss the meetup 3 times and you are banned. For a while. Until I say you can come back. I'll get a menu up soon. Until then, check them out here:

I think we need to do this more often--every month?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
