Buying at Local Tax Sales

Short sales.  Wholesaling. Fix & Flip.  Lease Options.  You’ve heard or read about all of these types of ways to buy real estate for investment purposes. On  April 24, 2014 DIG is hosting a meeting  to introduce you to a way of buying LOCAL real estate in our LOCAL market directly and gives you a chance to use this knowledge within 1 week of learning about it.

For the first time ever, DIG will be hosting Montgomery County Treasurer Jason Salus and his assistant, Alex Glassman to teach you about the process of buying at local tax sales.  This meeting will go over the process, terminology, how to bid, and the forms needed to buy not just at Montgomery County’s tax sale, but at any  County tax sale within our region.

To top it off, Montgomery County will be having their judicial and upset tax sale on April 29, 2014 giving attendees a chance to become familiar with the process on Thursday night and then attend a LIVE judicial and upset sale within 5 days!!

 You will learn specifics about:

*The Upset Sale. This sale is conducted once a year and is the first sale at which a delinquent taxpayer's property may be sold.

*  Which properties are eligible  for the Upset Sale.

* Properties that have not been sold at Upset Sale or Private Sale may be sold at the Judicial Sale.
* Which Properties are sold “Free and Clear” of all liens and encumbrances at the time of sale.

*Proper bidding forms

*How properties end up at tax sales

Join us to learn how you  can buy at these tax sales and not get burned! Go to the tax sale and KNOW what is going on so you can BUY with confidence!

What is your thinking in regards to starting out as an investor who brings buyer and seller to closing and collecting a commission on the contract agreed upon?

Aisha, you cannot describe it in those terms (commission), it sounds like practicing real estate without a licence (illegal). Maybe there is a lawyer at DIG who can help with your question.
