Our next meeting with be Monday night December 3rd from 7-9PM at Rivalries Sports Pub and Grill in the old port. We will be reserving the upstairs, so there will be plenty of room. If you are interested in food and drink, you can order directly off the menu. To keep things simple, everyone will be responsible for their own food and drink.
Talks:
Colin Snyder: What I learned building BoodleUP [1 hour]
Colin will talk about BoodleUP and some of the challenges and pitfalls he faced as he built the system. He will give a high level history and a overview, and then dive into different topics. A list of topics are shown below.
Lightning Talks: 5-10 minutes on what ever topic you want to talk about.
This is open for anyone, no need to tell me before hand, once we are done with the talks, anyone can go up and talk about what ever they want for 5-10 minutes. Do you have a programming problem you need help with. Do you need some advice, or someone constructive criticism? Now is the time. No computer needed. We will have a projector available if needed.
Other:
I would also like to take some time and build a list of future talks that people want to give or see, and schedule them for future meetings, and also pick the dates and locations for the next few meetings. Even if you can't make the meeting, please send me your requests/suggestions to me ahead of time.
What ever time left over, will be for socializing and other fun stuff. Rivalries is a bar, and Monday means Monday night football, so feel free to stick around after the meeting, and watch the game, and hang out.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Ken
