Docker Meetup with AWS Elastic Beanstalk

Join us for the next Docker SF Meetup! This event will be hosted at Docker HQ in San Francisco. Members of both the Docker team and AWS team will be giving a talk about the Introduction to Docker and AWS Elastic Beanstalk and how they work together. After the demo, all the speakers will answer specific questions from the audience.

Schedule

6:00: Networking / Food & Drinks (including beer)

6:30 What’s new in the latest Docker release and Docker Hub

7:00: AWS Elastic Beanstalk support for Docker

AWS recently added support for deploying and managing Docker containers in Elastic Beanstalk. Join Evan Brown - Senior Developer Advocate, Amazon Web Services – for a deep-dive on this new tech. Lots of samples, just a few slides, and you'll leave with a copy of the tutorial and $25 in AWS credit.

7:30: Q&A session

About Docker

Docker is an open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications. Consisting of Docker Engine, a portable, lightweight runtime and packaging tool, and Docker Hub, a cloud service for sharing applications and automating workflows, Docker enables apps to be quickly assembled from components and eliminates the friction between development, QA, and production environments. About AWS Elastic Beanstalk

AWS Elastic Beanstalk is an even easier way for you to quickly deploy and manage applications in the AWS cloud. You simply upload your application, and Elastic Beanstalk automatically handles the deployment details of capacity provisioning, load balancing, auto-scaling, and application health monitoring. At the same time, with Elastic Beanstalk, you retain full control over the AWS resources powering your application and can access the underlying resources at any time. Elastic Beanstalk leverages AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (Amazon EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS), Elastic Load Balancing, and Auto Scaling to deliver the same highly reliable, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure that hundreds of thousands of businesses depend on today. Just realize that I am no longer on the waiting list. But it's too late for me as I already left the city. It seems no way to change RSVP at this point. Someone can take my spot

I missed the talk. I didn't think that Beanstalk used Docker containers at all. Have they recently added this feature?

Will this be taped? And perchance are the Dockercon and Hackathon videos up yet? I saw a keynote but not the others.
