This Docs In Progress screening provides an opportunity for local and visiting documentary filmmakers to screen their unfinished films to an audience and get valuable feedback. After screening each film, facilitators from Docs In Progress moderate a feedback session with the audience. This honest and constructive feedback is aimed at helping the filmmakers get to the next stage of completing and distributing the film.  Special thanks to The Documentary Center at the George Washington University for sponsoring this program.

Madame Parliamentarian
by Rouane Itani
Lebanon is often considered the most progressive nation in the Arab world yet it lags behind in women’s representation in its Parliament.  This short documentary explores women’s participation in Lebanese political life, exploring some of the obstacles and options for increasing their legislative representation.

The Seldom Scene
by G.T. Keplinger
From “basement band” jam sessions in the 1960s, weekly gigs in Washington D.C. area clubs starting in 1971, and beyond, the Seldom Scene became one of the most important bluegrass bands ever creating an urban bluegrass fan base. Through band member interviews, photographs, and concert footage, this is their story.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
