Docs In Progress is pleased to be a co-sponsor of FilmFest DC's screening of Return To Homs.
This screening is part of FilmFest DC's Justice Matters series and is co-sponsored by Docs In Progress, Busboys and Poets, Center for Media & Social Impact, American University, GWU Documentary Center, Syrian Emergency Task Force.
ABOUT THE FILM
Filmed over three years in Homs, Syria, Return to Homs accompanies two outstanding young men, Basset and Ossama, from a time in which they dream of achieving freedom through non violent means, to a time when they are faced with different choices. In a city on the verge of destruction, this is a modern epic of youth in war. Awarded the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at the Sundance, Indiewire compares this film to last year’s Oscar nominee, 5 Broken Cameras, in it’s potential for social impact. Filmmaker, Orwa Nyrabia, will be present for Q & A after each screening.
TWO IMPORTANT NOTES
(1) RSVPing through Meet-Up does not guarantee a ticket to this screening. You must purchase tickets on your own directly from FilmFestDC. The festival is very popular and many films often sell out, so we recommend you purchase in advance online. Tickets are $11 plus handling fees.
(2) The Meet-Up Organizer has another commitment that same night. If members want to organize your own Meet-Up to discuss the film after the screening, please note where you'd like to Meet-Up in your RSVP. However, there will not be a Meet-Up organizer with a sign to round folks up.
