Join us for our Third Summer Meet and Greet at The Point Park and Eats on Boerne Stage Road on Saturday, August 16 from 6:30 to 9:30.

 http://www.parkatthepoint.com

We had a great time just being able to talk to people at our second Meet and Greet this summer and we'd like to continue the event.  We have a reserved section at The Point near the playground under Doctor Who Fans Unite, so feel free to bring your little Whovians along.  (This site is also dog friendly.)  We learned our lesson last time, so this meetup starts a little later than the others and I think it's a shaded spot.

According to reviews, parking is a little strange out here, but other than that, it seems like a great place to meet.

I'm trying to build up a list of good places for us to hold Meet and Greets.  If you have suggestions for other places we could go with a crowd of 24-50 people, please feel free to message me.  (Thanks for this suggestion, James!)

Thanks and I hope to see you there!

Can't really complain, wasn't that expensive and great shade. Just wish the band wasn't so loud

It was hard to find and way too hot, but the food looked good. I would have chatted more but still don't know anyone that well and m y throat was bothering me a bit.

Richard, I am glad you came though. If you were looking for a neat place to hang out and listen to music the Point would be it, but it wasn't conducive to talking. We"ll keep searching in our quest to find the perfect spot.

It was fine up to the point when SOMEONE (not necessarily from the group, could have been someone who also was at the place) took $30 from my wife's wallet. I would not recommend this place again because of that AND it was too noisy and hard to have conversations about Doctor Who and other stuff without shouting or moving around way too much. I recommend also a place that has PROPER bathroom facilities and hygiene as they were dirty and not really stocked with soap and paper towels. Also the bathrooms smelled bad too. Music also annoying too.

Richard, I'm sorry you and your wife had a unpleasant evening with us. It was unfortunate that someone in the crowd was dishonest and took cash from your wife's wallet when she accidentally left it in the restroom. It's always disheartening to realize there are dishonest people in the world and I agree with you that I don't for a single moment believe that it was anyone in our group. I really enjoyed the food and companionship, as well as the music at The Point, but I agree that it was too loud to hold proper conversations and for that reason, we will probably not use this location again. In addition, the parking was a bit difficult. As always, if you or anyone else can suggest another location, please do. We are trying out various places so we can build up a list of good sites that can accommodate a group of our size. Thank you for your input.

We moved inside because of the music. Good band but we couldn't hear each other talk.

I can't figure out how to change it when I wasn't going to make it, but I tried.

I spoke to John when I originally called and he's setting aside some tables near the playground area, under the trees off the parking lot. I'll get there a bit early- I'm thinking we'll only need about four or five tables, given the number of people we have signed up. I'm calling again today to confirm it. The area is a bit torn up with construction, but when I went out there, the girl I spoke to said it's quiet after 5:00, so we shouldn't have any problems. If we like this place, we'll probably save another visit for the spring once construction out that way is complete.

What is the ground like around there? If I'm able to get a ride with someone I'll be using my manual wheelchair, which might make getting around on rough ground more difficult than if I were using my power chair.

IIRC, there is fairly dense gravel in the parking areas, in front of some of the trucks is cement like on a sidewalk, and in some other areas there is gravel of various densities. Tamara knows which area they have reserved for us, so she might be able to answer specifically about that section.

Our car will be full because we are bringing two nieces and a nephew, but for anyone else who might want to try and give you a ride, do you need a van with a ramp, or would it be easier than that to help you get to the event?

I can use my manual wheelchair, which can be dismantled and loaded easily,

I'm coming from the Hollywood Park / Hill Country Village area, if anyone near there needs a ride.

I'll be driving in from the NE side of town, would anyone like to ride with me?
