Hello and Welcome!  I started this group on 4/15/11  to provide opportunities for dogs and their owners to enjoy some outdoorsy activities and socializing.  It seems as if people like the idea, as our membership has gained over 125 members in just 6 months!  I like to emphasize off leash hiking and events, but any events or event suggestions are welcome.

** Dogs are welcome on or off leash, as long as they are well-socialized and friendly.  People are welcome with or without dogs, as long as they are dog lovers! ***

We currently have only a few people  organizing trips, so I especially welcome anyone who is willing sign up as an event organizer to help lead trips ( just shoot me an email, and I'll add you on as an EO) Meetups are grassroots kindof things, and we all have day jobs, so the more we all participate the better the group will be!  All types of events are welcome, as long as they are dog-friendly.

Please read the meetup descriptions carefully.  Some activities will be more "active" and some will be more social; know whether the meetup is an 8 mile hike with killer hills, or a 1/2 hike along a river to find a swimming hole.  It is your responsibly to be prepared (for both you and your dog).  By signing up with the group, you are agreeing to the group guidelines posted at: http://files.meetup.com/1820604/dog-meetup-guidelines-2.pdf

There is a fee to host a group on the meetup site.  I paid for the first 9 months and I would like to ask that members contribute $6/year toward this cost.
