What better way to celebrate the re-opening of the National Parks then a nice, brisk and crisp morning walk within one such park located in our backyard!? I'd like to invite you all out for wonderful walk along the Burnt Hickory trail that connects Burnt Hickory and Dallas Highway. For those of you who may not have had the chance to venture out on this trail, it is an out and back trail starting from Burnt Hickory (didn't see that coming, did you? LOL) and stretches out to Dallas Highway. There are two trails that branch off of the main trail, but we will be taking the main trail on this hike (unless everyone would like to explore a side trail). There is a beautiful bridge that crosses over a lovely little creek; we can stop for a water break for the dogs and those of us who need a little re-fueling as well. The trail is probably best described as Easy-Moderate as there are a couple places with an incline; however, nothing as strenuous as hiking straight up the mountain itself. We will be walking at a comfortable pace for everyone, so please come out and enjoy this glorious Autumn weather with me! I'm looking forward to seeing/meeting you!
As a side note: For anyone interested in joining me, I will be heading to the biscuit place located on Old 41, past the Visitor's Center. They have a fabulous menu and outside seating so we can eat our well deserved breakfast while enjoying the rest of the morning! I believe the name of the place is Kennesaw Biscuits...but don't hold me to it.
