Pooch Play at Pine Lake Park (inside Stern Grove)

This is going to be a "very very casual" doggy social with no set agenda! This event is relaxed so if you're coming please arrive to check in with me between 10-11am. I'm making this very easy for you and your pup: no need to worry about rushing to drive over to Stern Grove and no need to wear walking or running shoes unless you want to (but you really should wear some sort of footwear). This dog social is going to be a "do what you feel like" kind of event....

Here's a list of suggested activites I/we can do on our own or as a small group: walk around the perimeter of Pine Lake Park once or twice, bring some tennis balls and/or soft frisbees for playing fetch n catch or bring pull toys for tug of war. Please only bring toys that you don't mind "losing" because there's a good chance another pup might run off with your tennis ball! So don't bring any favorite toys. There's a large play area where we can play catch with our K9's and let them run wild. For us humans we can just relax on the bench or blanket enjoying some sun, bring your 2nd cup of coffee to sip while you watch your bff play with other pups, you can bring a snack to munch on or you can even bring an early lunch (or late breakfast) for yourself to eat if you want! I'll bring a blanket for lounging/relaxing in case the benches are full.

From the parking lot follow the path on the right side until you see the benches and arbor - that's our meeting spot. Here's a pic:

Look for me, Karen H wearing my hot pink windbreaker and either playing tennis ball fetch with Molly or you might find us relaxing on a bench or lounging on the blanket soaking up some sun! Stern Grove is one of my favorite spots to take Molly. It doesn't get too windy because we're "down in the valley" with lots of eucalyptus trees. Remember water and snacks as needed for you and your pup and cleanup bags. Water faucets are located next to the bulletin board (where the paved path starts) and down a ways toward where the actual Pine Lake is. Restrooms located a bit further down closer to Pine Lake and are located at Lakeshore Plaza Shopping Center (read more below).

In case you want to grab a drink, a snack or lunch on the way to Stern Grove, Lakeshore Plaza Shopping Center is close by located on 1501 Sloat Blvd (about a quarter mile away). Here you can find a Lucky grocery store, Peet's Coffee and Noah's Bagels as possible choices, http://www.lakeshoreplazanews.com/.

See you at the grove!

I will be at a Reactive Rover class at Wag Hotel SF to get tips on how to curb reactive behavior (my dog bark/lunge at other dogs sometimes). If interested, check with Wag. $99 2 hr class for owners only (don't bring dog).

Technically, that part of the park is on-leash anyway. And unless we get a good rain, the lake will be pretty murky.
