THE WEATHER IS CLOUDY BUT DRY- THE WALK IS ON!
Stern Grove is a beautiful, 33 acre park right in San Francisco. Much of it is off leash, and the dogs just love it. It has hiking paths, a huge dog run, a big lake, and plenty of critters to sniff out. Doggy Heaven! We'll start our walk at the TROCADERO CLUBHOUSE (that's the yellow building at the bottom of the 19th Avenue/Sloat entry. Plenty of free parking). We'll follow the hillside path along the concert meadow, working our way over to the dog run, where our furpals can have great romp and fetch time. Then we'll take a loop around the lake, which brings us back to the dog run. We'll follow the flat path along the back of the stage to our starting point.
This is an easy, mostly flat walk with a little bit of hill on the early paths. The walk should take about 2 hours, depending on how much we dilly-dally. There are bathrooms at the Trocadero and the BBQ area near the lake, and several dog drinking fountains along the way.
I am thinking about bringing a different dog to this event. Banjo is a 7 year old Brittany, very active and energetic. He stays on leash through the walk. BUT, he's not neutered. Some dogs (mostly girls) love it, some dogs (mostly boys) hate it, and some dogs (like Moe) don't care. Please let me know if your dog will have a problem with Banjo, and I will bring Slow-Moe instead. I don't want anyone else's dog to be uncomfortable. Please leave a message or shoot me an email.
Rain is predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday. If it's still raining on Thursday, we'll reschedule.
