POSTPONED. A friend of mine nearby says that it's just terrible there this evening, and fog is starting t roll in hard. It won't be much fun to walk in this weather, so we are going to POSTPONE. We will try for next week- I'll update as we get closer. I apologize for the inconvenience, but we take our chances with the weather, and sometimes the weather wins (especially in the summer). ELIZABETH
It's the end of the All-American holiday weekend. We've been to the parades and fireworks and BBQs and eaten the apple pie. Oh, so much pie. Tomorrow it's back to work, but let's end the holiday by spending some special time with our dogs on a "golden hour" walk along Land's End.
We'll meet at the Visitor Center at 6:00 PM. (Dogs on leash in the parking lot and the area near the visitor center. NO EXCEPTIONS). After a few minutes to meet and greet, we'll head off to the trails, This should give us plenty of time for a coast-side walk before it starts to get dark. If we're feeling adventurous (It's a bit early to be sure, but the forecast is showing clear, warm weather that weekend. Woo Hoo!), we can take a detour to the beach, or down to the ruins of the Sutro Baths. We'll follow our four-legged friends. The walk starts out easy, but becomes more difficult as we go along (there are stairs and hills in every direction). We walk a steady but moderate pace, but please be prepared.
PLEASE NOTE- Dusk is prime time for coyotes. They tend to avoid groups, but please be careful. If you have a small dog who wanders, you might want to put a bell on him. Here's some guidelines from the HSUS:
