Humane Society of Charlotte's Pet Palooza

The Humane Society's annual Pet Palooza festival is back and bigger than ever! They're focusing more on the "palooza" part of the day and have added lots of great events and vendors, including a food truck "paw-vilion" and a beer garden. Funds raised from Pet Palooza will help the Humane Society of Charlotte continue to provide critical services (such as low-cost spay/neuter, adoptions, and low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics) to more than 15,000 homeless and at-need pets in our community this year. They rely on sponsors, vendors, fundraising walkers, and event attendees to help achieve that goal. Last year's event raised more than $102,000---this year, with YOUR help---they hope to raise $130,000!

There are several ways you can get involved:

1. Walk with the Dogtopia of Charlotte Team! Everyone who walks as part of our Dogtopia team will get a Dogtopia t-shirt to wear during the 2K Dog Walk – the wild and “woofy” kick-off to Pet Palooza! At 10 am, human and canine friends will take a fun stroll around Independence Park, down 7th Street, and back into the park. The route is 1.3 miles (2K), with a shortcut at the half-mile mark for pooped puppies. There'll be hundreds of participants, celebrity emcees, music, and lots of fun costumes! Simply go to the page below and click the big “REGISTER” button and you'll instantly have your own fundraising page as a part of our Team.

2. Donate to our team. Every little bit makes a big difference. As you’re making your donation, here are some numbers to consider:
$25 will feed four hungry kittens for one week.
$50 will supply a warm, comfy bed for dogs in their kennels.
$75 can provide one spay/neuter surgery to prevent more homeless animals.
$100 will make sure four puppies stay healthy by receiving their necessary vaccinations.
$250 will have 30 cats tested to keep feline leukemia and AIDS from making lots of other cats sick.
$500 funds five heartworm tests.
$1500 can provide nutritious food for the Humane Society animals for approximately two months.
Just click on the “DONATE NOW” button at http://www.crowdrise.com/dogtopiaofcharlotte-petpalooza.
3. Drop-off some much needed items the next time you are at Dogtopia, or when you stop by our vendor booth at Pet Palooza. We’ll bring them with us to Pet Palooza to give to the shelter. For a list of items the shelter is always looking for, please visit: http://humanesocietyofcharlotte.org/donate/wish_list.php.
4. Come enjoy the festival! After the walk there will be a Fido Fashion Show, Paw readings, People & Pet Massages, Agility demos and trials, microchipping, a CMPD K-9 Unit demonstration, face painting, a food truck “paw-vilion” and a beer garden. There’s something for even the most discerning pooch!

I had a Golden Retriever for 13 years that I had to put down Nov 30th. I've adopted a dog from humane society in January. Very friendly but gets "super" excited once he sees other dogs. Thinking this may be a good way for more exposure.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
