What organization are you representing?

I'm interested in learning how to effectively utilize friends and donors as volunteers. One of the things I've been tasked with in the past year or so has been putting our fledgling advisory board to work on a Development Committee, and it's been harder than I thought to motivate them to help with fundraising (even the relatively mild task of sending stewardship notes to regular donors).

What is your position within your organization?

I am the Assistant Director for Development for the Kelly Writers House at the University of Pennsylvania. I mostly work in annual and term giving, major gifts, and event planning.

What topic areas would be most helpful for you (or your org!) to learn about?

Currently, my fundraising challenge is to bring my organization out of the early-years mindset of being terrified of donor fatigue, and designing new ways to engage and mobilize our donor base beyond sending a rote check at the holiday season. I'm currently working on our first sustainer campaign. Additionally, we may be headed into our first capital campaign to build an addition to our historic building.

What is your email address?

I'm Arielle, a fundraiser working to support arts, culture, and education in Philadelphia. I'm in my final semester of the Nonprofit Leadership program at Penn, and hope to translate my experience to greater community impact.
