Doo Wop Hall OF Fame Meet Up - Rescheduled - NEW NEWS!!!!!!

To January 12, 2013

We are pleased to announce that DEKE AND THE BLAZERS will be our featured performers for this Meet Up. It’s been a very busy & exciting year so far for Deke and The Blazers. They have been all over the U.S. from Detroit to California to Seattle and appreciate all of you who come out & support their shows! Deke and The Blazers apppeard on WJBK-TV Fox 2 Morning Show promoting their appearance as one of the acts on Doo-Wop Yule Pop-The Ultimate Doo-Wop Show at The Fox Theatre.

Please join us on this rescheduled date when we will be nominating Norman Fox and The Rob Roys in to our Doo Wop Hall Of Fame. A legend in the industry Norman has been performing since 1956 with such hits as "Tell Me Why", "Lover Doll", and "Dance Girl Dance". Norman just may perform that evening with a few of our members backing him up. Please show him some love that evening and let him know we would like to listen to him.

Our first Meet Up for the year was an amazing evening as those who were in attendance can attest. We had 85 people there. Singers were harminizing out in the street and singing on open mic. Members of the Dukes Of Doo Wop will be there greeting and enjoying the night and will be available to fill in voices where needed, as well as members of the hit group Friends Of Distinction. I believe Ladd Vance will be in the house as well as he is always ready, able and willing to sing.I

it is on a Saturday night, January 12th from 5 - 9PM so that we don't have to deal with Sunday afternoon football. Please keep the date open as we will once again be looking for vocal groups and solo singers to come join us.

Peace, light and harmony.

Great and always getting better. Last night was especially wonderful: inducting Norman Fox & The Rob Roys; featured group, Deke and The Blazers; additionally, the open mike segment (some great talent); and some very talented professional groups showcased their talents: Street Corner Renaissance, and Little Mo & The Dynamo's.
Looking forward to the next DWHOF MeetUp - can't wait. Good people, good music, good food = great night.

I'm going to do my best to make it. Deke and the Blazers are friends of mine. I'm warming up my bass pipes. Grease for peace.

The Dop Wop Hall Of Fame was originally founded by Lonnie Cook. Lately Mr. Cook has been unavailable to see what his idea has become for personal reasons.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
