Worth Matravers to Corfe Circular Route

This leg stretching, heart pounding challenging walk, with 34 Stiles, steep cliff paths over a 9-10 mile route. From Worth Matravers we head for Purbeck hills and on to Corfe Castle village. After a well earned lunch we will turn for Kingston then continue towards Houns Tout. This walk is not for the faint hearted and for those wanting to push themselves a little. Due to numbers attending we will split into two groups between John and myself and go opposite ways aroung the route.

Walk Leader: Robin and John

Level of Difficulty: 3 (Difficult) by the book but having looked at it today it does not seem that difficult

Dangers: Steep cliff paths, 34 Stiles

Car Park: Just north of Worth Matravers near Square and Compass (honesty box) see photos of car park.

Distance: 9 - 10 Miles (14.5 KM)

Approximate Time: 3 1/2 - 4 hours

Beverage/Food: Packed lunch and warm drinks / water

Pub: The Square & Compass at the end of the walk near the car park

Weather: Forecast Summary Outlook for Saturday to Monday

Mostly fine at first on Saturday, but clouding over later with outbreaks of rain by evening. Rain turning heavier on Sunday, clearing to showers Monday. Windy throughout with coastal gales.

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud!! - yet another great walk - never counted the stiles in the end it was enough to get to the top of the steps - what a view - great organising, great company - now to get those boots clean.

Some thought had gone into the design of this walk. Where to stop at the right times for the best views and how to get around the storm damaged paths. The route was atmospheric and the people friendly. Can't ask for more.

Hi, I'm brand new, please be gentle!
I'd love to do this, I've walked extensively in the New Forest, I've even walked to Twyn y Gaer from the Brecon Visitors centre (and return!) in February!!. For personal reasons, I'd like to try some walks in Dorset as I know no-one who does so but this one looks a bit of a reach as I haven't done a stretch like this one for a couple of years.

Looking forward to this walk on Sunday and am very pleased with the number that are on the attendance list, please update the RSVP so we have accurate account on who is going. John has kindly offered to assist and allowing the walk to be split into two groups going in opposite directions around the route, we hope to meet for lunch together in Corfe Village. Please arrive early enough to find parking as the parking area does fill up on nice days and prepare for the 1030 start to the walk.

Hi Robin, I would like to go on the walk on sunday, although not sure about the weather, I have to be at work on Canford heath at 2.30 and wondered if there will be enough time. Or if I could get a lift with someone from Corfe and then leave the group when you get there. In time for me to get to work.

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year.
What a great response to the walk on Sunday with a number of new members joining for their first walk. John and I have decided that if the numbers remain at the current level we would split the group into two with either a time difference between both groups setting off or going around the walk in different directions. We will ask the more seasoned members to assist the walk leaders with either volunteering for a spell at the back, making sure we don’t lose anyone, shutting gates, keeping up the spirits of anyone who is struggling, or making sure all newcomers are made welcome. Please watch out for updates as the weather may be a cause for concern. Please ring me[masked] if you have any difficulty finding the car park or you will be late arriving. We look forward to seeing you then.
