Douglas County Scrapbooking Group is a community of ladies in Douglas County and surrounding areas with a genuine interest in scrapbooking, card making or papercrafting in general that meet for crops the first Friday of every month in Parker from 5:00pm-9:15pm to work on our projects (child-free). Our crops (including occasional quick demos) are free. From 9:15-9:30pm we help each other put back the tables & chairs, take out trash and vacuum.
RSVPs close at 3pm for our monthly crops so if you can't make it, please change your RSVP by then (if possible) to "not coming". Often times we have quick 10-minute demos so it's nice to know how many supplies the demonstrator needs to bring for the amount of members attending.
I hope you consider joining our group! If you do, please remember to post a photo of YOU, not a photo of your pet, flower, your children, etc. It's nice to put a face to a name at an event.
I post videos of our retreats and swaps on YOUTUBE; just search MissPurplePotato on YouTube to view them if interested and it will give you an idea of the many projects my group works on as well as the fun we have on our weekend retreats to create!
You don’t have to live in Douglas County to join! Meet others that share the same passion for paper for a fun-filled time of great conversation. My hope is that it will become a wonderful group to share, inspire, and learn something new from each other while working on our projects, free of charge. There is no selling at our crops nor do I allow using this site to promote businesses like Creative Memories, Stampin Up, Close To My Heart, etc. Unfortunately if I allowed it for one, I'd have to allow it for all and I simply don't want our ladies ever to feel like they need to buy something and to just come to relax and create pressure-free, focusing more on building friendships.
Since we meet around dinner time, please feel free to bring your dinner and/or beverage. We don't have a kitchen where we meet. There is a snack table set up for those wanting to bring snacks to share. I think you'll find our group very inviting and fun to hang out with. It's been such a heartwarming experience and we welcome all skill levels.
Like I mentioned above, we sometimes have quick, free demos at each crop starting promptly at 6:30pm (to allow for those arriving late), either by myself, a member of our group or an invited guest. It's fun to learn something new each time. We try to keep the demos under 15 min. so we can get back to working on our projects.
I also post "Field Trips" (like in grade school!) to various craft related shops and/or events around Colorado, "Swaps" (an annual gift tag swap at Christmas time for example) at least two Weekend Retreats a year to get away and create. These little extras spice things up a bit and are a fun way to hang out with each other. These extra activities are totally optional, depending on your schedule.
A couple times a year we'll have a Swap table set up at our crop where you can bring an unwanted scrapbook item and trade it for something else on the table. At times we'll have a crop with a twist such as our "Boss You Around" crops or "Punch You Out" crops. Click on our Photos button to see what those are all about.....
Join our Scrapbook Meetup Group where we share our talents, creative ideas and learn new techniques from each other. We enjoy seeing what other members are working on, while making new friends. It is an atmosphere that we all look forward to each month.
Please note that after 6 months you haven't participated in any of our activities, you may be deleted since this is a group to participate in, not just join. We want to get to know YOU!
We all have one thing in common - we love papercrafting and having a great time! If that sounds like what you are looking for...please join us!
