Introduction

Welcome to the group! I started this group to help positive people come together and share how they are using their spiritual knowledge and experiences to improve their own lives and the lives of people around them.

List some of the things that you have liked about other spiritual communities that you've attended?

I really liked a book discussion group that I attended in Cincinnati. I seem to learn alot more in a discussion setting rather than a lecture.

What has been the most inspiring or transformational book, video, etc. in your life?

Gangaji's books and videos have been very helpful and enjoyable to me. The "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle made an impact on me years ago. I'm currently reading "The Hope - A Guide to Sacred Activism" by Andrew Harvey.

  • Thanks for the warm welcome, Steve! I am looking forward to getting together with the group; not sure it will be this evening, though, since I'm not feeling very motivated at the moment. Maybe it's because I've been awake since 2:30 am this morning and I am lacking in sleep. January '11 may be a better start date for me and I hope to meet you then.

  • That's great! I live north of Cincinnati - Recently moved from Huber so I don't mind the drive.

  • Steve,
Thanks for the suggestion. I did check out some of the past meetups. I am not sure this is the right group for me, but will continue to think about it. I have been deeply wounded by religion and have no interest rites that include using the word God. I am familiar with the course in miracles. I have a CD on forgiveness called "Forgive for good" by Fred Luskin of Stanford University. It is very good. Do you think the group might like to review it?

  • Steve, Earth Angels does not have a base belief system. Most of our members have a given gift that they are trying to understand and utilize to its fullest. We do not force a doctrine so that might be a good thing for you or might not. You are welcome to come visit, our members are welcome to visit you also. Spirit leads and we are fine with it. Hope to see you soon. Nora

  • Hi Steve, Have not attended your meetups but have kind of tracked the activities due to an interest. i think it would be great if our groups could get acquainted. Maybe I will eventually meet you, it would be a pleasure to do so.

  • Hi Steve, Welcome to Earth Angels. Max organizes our events. I will assure he gets your information. Sounds like a good idea. We gather in Centerville, OH which is just north of Springboro up 741. We can coordinate something and see if its a good fit. Looking forward to meeting you soon.

  • Thanks I will be in Springboro that morning and then have to be back home that afternoon, so I can't make it back to springboro for the meeting that evening I'll try and make the next one. Thanks.

  • Hi! I'm a member of an emerging congregation (15 families) in Mason/Deerfield called Harmony Unitarian Universalist Church. We have lay-led discussions during our services, and the topics sound very similar to DTE! I was excited when I found an article about this group in the Pulse-Journal. We should get our groups together. You may get some visitors soon from Harmony!
