Common Ground Country Fair

As we did last year, DEHF will have a booth in the political/social action tent. It is a great fair, sponsored by Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners. We had a wonderful time last year! We need lots of members to commit to being at the booth, as we must have it open from 9-6 on Fri. and Sat., and 9-5 on Sun.

    We owe Doug HUGE thanks for all the work he did in organizing us, setting up, closing down AND tending the booth both Friday and Sunday. Hauling all that stuff, unpacking, then packing it all up and hauling it back is such a big job. Some others of us spent a morning or an afternoon or much of a day at the booth, but he did the lion's share of the work. Last year it was Abbie. Next year we must find a way to share the load more. Nadine, Flo (two days also), Anthony, George, Ashli, Amy, Torj, Kurt, Abbie (hope I didn't forget anyone?)...thank you all. Especially thank you, Doug! I think it was again a great success.

      Thanks Nancy. Luckily Anthony and Flo both stayed over their scheduled shift to help yesterday afternoon. I thought the attention we got and the questions we answered made it all worthwhile. Thanks to everyone who volunteered!

    Met some wonderful folks at the fair. Some very inspiring stories. We just need more volunteers to man the booth next year if we want to continue representing ourselves. It's lots of fun and a free pass into a great fair. Win-win!

    Fri. 20th AM- Nadine and Doug

    Sat. 21st AM- Nancy, George, Ashli
    PM- Flo, Amy, Abbie
    Sun. 22nd AM- Flo, Anthony
    PM- Bob, Gill, Doug
    As you can see, we could still use another person for Fri. and Sun. mornings but I'm sure we'll get by with the volunteers who have stepped up. Thanks everyone.

    Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help out at the fair. Our need at this point is for coverage on Sunday morning so anyone can help fill that slot. We will be discussing our preparations in more detail at the meeting on Sat.. See you then.

    The schedule for coverage looks like this so far:
    Fri 20th- Doug all day, Kurt and Torj from 12:00 till 6:00.
    Still need two people for the morning.
    Sat. 21st- Nancy 9:00-12:00
    Still need 2 people for the morning and 3 for the afternoon.
    Sun. 22nd-Bob,Gill and I from 12:00 till 5:00.
    Still need 3 people for the morning.
    There are only 3 passes available per day so it will be important to know who will be going and when. Just post here or give me a call [masked]
