Parade Preparations Party

  • Home of Abbie McMillen

We are getting together at Abbie's house to roll the scrolls and make decorations for the float. The decorations will be all natural materials (as much as possible). Bring whatever you have: pine cones, ribbon, popcorn and cranberry stringing materials; moss; berries; feathers; shells, etc. And some food to share! Here are Abbie's instructions and directions:Address for those with Google Earth etc.:
 21 Carver Field Rd.
Harborside, ME 04642

Phone for those who get lost:[masked] but beware - cell phone may not work

Warning: Be sure you start with a full tank of gas.  There are no stations closer than Blue Hill.

From Blue Hill:  Take Rte. 15 toward Stonington.
Turn right on Rte. 175
At the bottom of the hill, take the left fork (Rte 176, not a misprint) - that's Coastal Rd
Proceed through the village of Bucks Harbor
Keep going.  The post office will be on the right.
Shortly past the post office, take a left onto the Cape Rosier Road.  If you get to the Town office, you went too far.
Keep going on the Cape Rosier Road for what seems like forever.
At a T junction, with the Rosier/Rainbow Grange in front of you (offset slightly to the right), take a LEFT onto the Weir Cove Road.  Roadsign may be missing.
Stay on the tarred road, past the beach and up the hill.
Go STRAIGHT, into the woods, off the tar road and onto dirt
Keep going past Four Season Farm on the right
The next left, a blue roadsign, Carver Field Rd, is our driveway.

Lots was accomplished, but the time went so fast, and it felt like we could be doing more. Good camaraderie and good food. A lot of fun.

Very productive and enjoyable afternoon! Thanks to Abbie for hosting and providing such great work space. One thousand scrolls rolled. Lots of beautiful decorations made for the tree. Fun! Oh, and good food, too!

Hi Folks - Would anyone be interested in car-pooling to Abbie's? I can be at Rooster Brother Sunday at noon and be willing to take any who want to join. Thanks. Peter

Jim. Abbie's get-together is Sunday at 1 pm and we will likely be there all afternoon, so just come a little late! Isn't the bridge from 12-1?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
