At the meetup today I mentioned the local public science discussion/presentation series that is underway on MDI. Here are the links:

The Jackson Laboratory has a series called Fireside Science. These are held in the main gathering room at The Jackson Laboratory campus in Bar Harbor. The next one is a discussion of aging research co-hosted by my boss. Come if you can! Link: http://genetichealth....­

These tend to be well attended and give good general discussion of the topic.
