I might be the only one in the group that has a different point of
view regarding this. I've been to a Mutt Mingle and loved it. I found
easy and safe parking at 6pm (when all the parking meters / parking
restrictions lift).

The store is great, the dogs were wonderful, the paw bar was fun and
my dog and I had a great time.

All the other times I've visited the store location, I've taken the
Metro Red Line to Pershing Square. It's just an easy walk.

Some ideas are group hiking / walking with dogs, a beach picnic at a
dog friendly beach (might have to be Huntington) or and interactive
talk / discussion on new and interesting things to do with your pet in
Southern California (maybe taken from A Dog Lover's Companion to
California or the like).

Those are just my suggestions.

Best,
Kimberly
