Please introduce yourself. Tell us what you do and how it relates to tech startups. Also, please use a real profile photo. Thanks!

After working in the Morgan Stanley IT department for 10+ years, I left in 2010 to start ModelSolv, an independent software vendor and consulting company focused on semantic model-oriented service architecture. Specifically: we are promoting the use of business-oriented information models as the foundation of Service Oriented Architecture, and building the platform to make that a practical reality in the enterprise and other large ecosystems. In the current phase of the company, I'm a true generalist, doing some coding, administration, contracts, marketing, UI design, quality assurance, and client relationship management. But my real focus, to the greatest extent I can maintain it, is in technical architecture and product strategy. I have to articulate the vision of what we're building, and continuously evolve the strategy of how to realize that vision. I'm always looking for ways to do those things.

What are some things you've built on your own initiative? What motivated you to build them?

Have you had an experience building something that did not work out? What did you learn?

Hello Startup Lunch members, I'm Ted Epstein, CEO of ModelSolv. We are a small company, currently building solutions for a large European bank, our first client. I look forward to meeting other startups, exchanging views, experiences and ideas.
