These groups are for people who want to either learn how to draw faces from the start or improve their drawing skills. It is geared towards low levels. Each participant has his/her own personal goal; to learn the face from the start; the features, hair, shadows, expressions or to improve what you already know.
What is very important to know is that unlike other Meetup groups, THIS IS A WEEKLY COURSE which lasts for about 3 months. It requires a commitment on your part to attend on a regular basis as each lesson builds on the previous one. Your progress & the progress of the other participants depends on your participation so attending each session is essential.
Naturally, there will be times when you can’t attend. In that case, either a make-up session will be necessary or the course will be cancelled for that week. Everyone needs to evolve & develop at the same pace. In each lesson there is something new to learn so missing a session would throw you & the others off track.
As soon as there is a minimum of 3 new people for a group, we can start...so please enroll now & then RSVP (click on the “I’m going” button) for whichever group interests you. 5 people (not including me!) is the maximum. Also it is difficult to join a group which already exists as you would miss too much instruction so now is the time to join.
As a fashion illustrator and teacher, I've developed techniques and methods that make drawing faces easier. We will learn or review the basic elements of drawing a face (proportions, features, hair, shadows). Then with photos, you will be able to attain the personal objectives that you aim for.
Based on my former groups & ongoing ones, you will find a super creative energy & sharing of ideas with the other members of the group. The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive and inspiring.
Here are some testimonies from former students:
From one of my previous students, Rob: Drawing lessons with Judy. I’ve been spending Saturday afternoons with Judy learning to draw portraits. Each Saturday I’m greeted by Judy with a bright smile and welcomed into her stylish apartment. The apartment is beautifully decorated with her own pictures as well as those of her friends. There’s a small group of us and Judy gives us precise instructions and keeps a watchful eye over our progress. She’s an imposing woman, and always stylishly turned out. Her standards are exacting, but her comments are positive and never harsh. As you can see the results of the attention to detail are impressive.
After the lessons ends we sometimes take a small aperitif, chat about the events of the week or just enjoy the view over Paris that her apartment offers.
If you’d like to take lessons with Judy too you can contact her here.
from 2 other former students: from Lin: "It keeps getting better and better!" & from Fanny:"It gets better everytime!"
This Meetup will take place in my apartment in the 13th "arrondissement"
Hoping to hear from you soon!!! Best Judy P.S. Prices for group lessons are 25€ each for 2 hour sessions / private lessons & make-up sessions are 25€ per hour
